A feasability study for an exhibition aimed at the visually impaired public

The goal of this initiative led by Barcelona and developed with the cities of Ålesund, Bad Nauheim, Brussels, Helsinki, Ljubljana, the Regione Lombardia and Rīga is to set up a feasibility study for an innovative exhibition aimed at the visually impaired public as well as the general public, showing a series of chairs copies from all typologies and their history.

The novelty of the concept stands in the use of chairs allowing the visitors to touch and sit on quality copies in the respect of materials, esthaetics and spirit of the original chair. Material samples (wood, iron, cover materials) will be at the visitors’ disposal to reach the searched tactile effect. An educational book about required specificities for the visually impaired public is developed as the first terms and conditions for the exhibition project.

Once this study is made, the exhibition will easily be implemented in the framework of a next project.
