Name
Discover the 'Glasgow Style' City Walking Tour
Description
Be transported back to the industrial ‘Second city of the Empire’ to trace the development of Glasgow’s architectural landscape from the Victorian greats who preceded him to the modern masterworks of Mackintosh. Discover the distinctive designs of Mackintosh and his contemporaries working in what was to become the ‘Glasgow Style’ - their influential contribution to the international Art Nouveau movement. Allow GSA’s award-winning tour guides to reveal Mackintosh’s work as a junior draftsman, explore the details of applied arts in the Kelvingrove, unfold the story of social change in Glasgow during this period of growth and showcase the city’s finest architecture in the ‘Glasgow Style’.
