Description
Join Danielle Rice, Executive Director of the Delaware Art Museum, on a once-in-a-lifetime tour of England! From October 6 – 13, 2012, Danielle will accompany a small group of Museum members on a journey which begins in Liverpool and ends in London and includes visits to museums, private homes, and churches featuring the work of members of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. Some highlights include: A curator-led tour of Buscot Park, the home of Lord and Lady Farringdon which contains one of the major Pre-Raphaelite collections in Great Britain, on a day normally closed to the public; A private tour of Wightwick Manor, one of the most complete William Morris interiors in the country, on a day when it is also normally closed to the public; A visit to Manchester Art Gallery, which houses one of the greatest collections of Pre-Raphaelite art in the world; and A private, curator-led tour of Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Avant-Garde, the renowned exhibition opening this Fall at the Tate Britain which includes three of the Delaware Art Museum’s paintings from the Bancroft Collection. This small, exclusive tour will include many other breathtaking estates and museum collections along the way. The deadline is quickly approaching, and only a few spots are left! Sign up by August 11 to guarantee your spot. Contact: President of Arts and Crafts Tours, Elaine Hirschl Ellis
