Tallinn’s Art-Nouveau Architecture. Jacques Rosenbaum (1878–1944)
Dates:01/01/2050-01/01/2999
Jacques Rosenbaum was one of the most outstanding Tallinn architects of the early 20th century. His buildings – Dragon Gallery at Pikk 18, the Reichmann House at Pikk 23/25, the former bank headquarters at Harju 9, the Seewald hospital complex, the Leppenberg tenant house with lions’ heads at Roosikrantsi 15, and others make up the brightest and most artistic part of late-historicist and art-nouveau architecture in Tallinn. Also published in the book are a large number of Rosenbaum’s unrealised projects. The study includes new data and documents on Rosenbaum’s previously unknown activities, including those from the last part of his life in Germany during the 1930s, which the author collected in Berlin archives. Strasbourg 1900 - Carrefour des arts nouveaux
Dates:01/01/2050-01/01/2999

Stained Glass - Masterpieces of the Modern Era
Dates:01/01/2050-01/01/2999
The twentieth century, with its revolution in architectural methods and materials, opened up new possibilities for stained glass. During the last thirty years, a great many projects have been created in stained glass all over the world, in both new buildings and historical churches and institutions. Studies of this phenomenon have been rare until now, and this book is a pioneer in the survey of this fascinating field. From the magnificent Art Nouveau ceilings of Parisian department stores, to exuberant designs from the Islamic world, and further still to the temples and palaces of India, Indonesia and Japan, stained glass becomes a medium by which the traditional and the avant-garde come together to create sumptuous decoration. Here too are striking designs by modern artists like Marc Chagall and Fernand Léger, and glass put to skilful and subtle use by master architects such as Antoni Gaudí and Frank Lloyd Wright. 31.50 x 27.00 cm Hardback 216pp 247 Illustrations, 246 in colour First published 2007
