Travelling exhibition The Nature of Art Nouveau at the Municipal Museum in Subotica– from 14 May to 14 September 2015

Organised by the Réseau Art Nouveau Network in the framework of the European project "Art Nouveau & Ecology" (2010-2015) supported by the Culture 2007-2013 programme of the European Commission, the exhibition comprises two identical concurrent exhibitions and has begun its journey to all partner cities in October 2013. After Ljubljana, the exhibition The Nature of Art Nouveau will be presented in Subotica at the Municipal Museum from 14 May until 14 September 2015.

It reveals the role that nature had in the Art Nouveau and how much the nature was the source of inspiration for the artists at the turn of 19th to 20th century.
Conceived by Catalan art historian Teresa-M. Sala, The Nature of Art Nouveau is an exhibition based on both encyclopedic information and individual experimentation. Using photographs and documents, together with a dynamic scenography created by Antoni Garau, it offers a concise view of Art Nouveau yet also aims to bring vividly to life the “perfumes, sounds and hues” of the natural world.

This exhibition is free.
