Reopening of the Magasin Wolfers at the Cinquantenaire Museum in Brussels – from 29 November 2017

105 years ago, Brussels celebrated the inauguration of the Maison Wolfers-Frères on Rue d'Arenberg.

From November, you will be able to admire this great Belgian jewelery house in its past splendor! A new scenography will perfectly reproduce the interior decoration as the architect Victor Horta imagined it in 1912. Horta designed at that time an Art Nouveau interior with Honduran mahogany displays and bronze gilded in which the prestigious objects of luxury in Gold, silver and ivory were fully developed.

The objects that will be exhibited in the Wolfers store are among the flagship works of the Art Nouveau collection. Some of them have never been shown to the public.

The 350m² room will be the first stage of a new course devoted to European decorative arts from the 18th to the 20th century ...
