The Art Nouveau ornament at the Horta Museum in Brussels

From 2 July to 27 September 2020, the Horta Museum – Saint-Gilles unveils a new exhibition devoted to ornament. Entitled “The Art Nouveau ornament”, it presents a selection whose objective is to show a representative selection of the creations of major artists of European Art Nouveau such as William Morris, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Hector Guimard, Morris Denis and Josef Hoffmann. The works of these artists will also enter into dialogue with anonymous productions from the Brussels collection of Mr. Van Hoe. A still little-known production, exhibited for the first time in Brussels, at the Horta Museum. Belgian representatives of the movement are also honored. Indeed, the visitor will be able to discover all the stages of creation of a work by Paul Hankar as well as different versions of a wallpaper created by Maria Sèthe and Henry Van de Velde.
