The tenth edition of the World Art Nouveau Day will be dedicated to typography.
Art Nouveau is expressed in many ways, one of which is the use of this style in typography. Letters and numbers become real works of art. Whether in prints, books or on buildings, typography can be found in all cities influenced by Art Nouveau.

With the 2022 edition of World Art Nouveau Day, the Network wants to pay tribute to typography and the impact it had on art and life in the early 20th century.

Family Workshop: Bonne impression / Een goede (in)druk / A good impression
11 June

On World Art Nouveau Day, the CIVA and the Horta Museum are opening their doors to you. The Horta Museum offers families the opportunity to discover Victor Horta’s house through a short, playful tour that highlights the architect’s varied typographic research. You will discover the many previously unpublished monogram projects, an incredible clock, and, if you are very attentive, the signature of the Master of Art Nouveau, hidden in the ironwork of the main staircase!

After being inspired at the Horta Museum, your eyes filled with curves from A to Z, join the CIVA for an intergenerational workshop on engraving and typography. Impress yourself with stamps, and Art Nouveau lettering… Have you ever uttered fancy words like “neoprene” or “loporello”?

This will be the opportunity to discover them thanks to a colourful print, together let’s develop our creativity without any technical prerequisites!
