New Interpretation Center Victor Horta’s Worlds at the Horta Museum in Brussels

26/06/2018

This new interpretation center aims to offer visitors a wider range of explanations for all audiences (ages 7 to 77) of all nationalities.

An animated movie, freely inspired by Monty Python, tells the life and work of Victor Horta.Archival images will come to life in a sometimes offbeat universe, sometimes faithful to the master’s one. Display cases and touch screens allow visitors to dive into some of the iconic creations of the great architect. Three models (Maison Horta, Palace of Fine Arts, Hotel Aubecq) connected to touch screens will give all the necessary information to the more novice visitors.

This center also allows the museum to accommodate people with reduced mobility who, until now, could not see the interior spaces of the museum.

Finally, some of the content of this Center will be freely available on the museum’s website.

This project is part of a vast plan to redevelop the collections and educational materials of the Horta house, of which Fonds Baillet Latour is a partner as well as the Brussels Capital Region.
